Espresso and whiskey bring a deep, bold flavor to this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. The espresso adds a rich roasted note without making the sauce taste overwhelmingly like coffee.
A shot of whiskey adds warmth and a slight bite that balances the sweetness of the ketchup and sugar. Worcestershire sauce and Texas BBQ seasoning round everything out with savory, smoky flavor.
This sauce works especially well with brisket, pulled pork, beef ribs, pork belly, burgers, and grilled chicken. It can be brushed onto meat during the final stage of cooking or served on the side as a dipping sauce.
Everything can be mixed directly in a jar, making preparation and cleanup easy. For a thicker, smoother sauce, simmer it briefly before serving.
