A Backyard Staple with a Bourbon Kick
This isn’t your average barbecue sauce. Deeply rich and complex, this Blueberry Bourbon BBQ Sauce balances smoky sweetness with a hint of heat and a smooth bourbon finish. The blueberries bring a burst of tart fruit flavor, while the bourbon adds depth and a subtle caramel note that ties it all together. It’s the kind of sauce that transforms grilled meats into something unforgettable — sticky, glossy, and packed with personality.
The Flavor Story
Fresh blueberries simmer down with brown sugar, tomato, and a splash of apple cider vinegar for tang. Garlic and onion build a savory backbone, while crushed red pepper brings just the right kick. The bourbon doesn’t overpower — instead, it lingers in the background, leaving a warm, mellow finish that complements smoky ribs, charred burgers, or even pulled pork sandwiches.
